Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day.

The places in our care across Massachusetts have been home to Indigenous peoples and communities for thousands of years, and they remain home today. These lands carry histories that deserve respect and reflection, not just today, but every day.

At The Trustees, we remain committed to listening, learning, and building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities as we care for these cultural landscapes. We're grateful to the Indigenous educators, artists, and knowledge keepers who share their stories with us and help shape how we tell the stories of these places.

Tickets selling fast! Interested in learning how to identify mushrooms and other delicious local wild edibles? Join experienced forager, Diana Burnell, this Sunday, October 11, for a Mushroom Walk through our sister locations -Whitney and Thayer Woods, Weir River Farm, and Turkey Hill! This walk is perfect for the forager/mushroom enthusiast, outdoor enthusiast, foodie or vegetarian.

We will review how to properly identify mushrooms and wild edibles, discuss sustainable harvesting and local laws, and collect specimens to study. Learn 15-20 mushroom species that are available now, as well as a variety of non-edible/poisonous fungi, plants and herbs.

This walk is ideal for beginners, but experienced foragers are also welcome!
