Even when the sky turns gray, World’s End still shines 🌿
Today may be rainy and stormy, but we’re holding onto moments like this—sunlight filtering through lush green trees along a peaceful path, a reminder of the calm that’s always waiting here.

When the weather clears, come take a stroll and soak it all in. Until then, let this little glimpse of sunshine brighten your day. 🌳

Join us this Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31, for Full Moon Hikes at our southeast locations! During these unique hiking experiences, we invite you to stay at World's End and Lyman Reserve after dark for a tranquil evening walk under the light of the moon.

Saturday, May 30: Once in a Blue Moon Hike at World's End
A Blue Moon occurs when there are two full moons during the same calendar month. This phenomenon occurs approximately every two to three years. During this program, a Trustees guide will lead participants on an hour-long hike along our century-old cart paths. We will talk about World’s End and take in views of the setting sun and rising Blue Moon Full Moon.

Sunday, May 31: Full Moon Creatures of the Night Hike
At Lyman Reserve, join us for a magical Full Moon Creatures of the Night Hike as we explore the fascinating world of these fascinating creatures. As we wander the trails, we’ll talk about the unique adaptations that allow nocturnal animals to thrive in the dark.

These hikes are great opportunities to get outside and share the joys of the outdoors.

For more information or to register for these hikes, visit our South of Boston Things to Do page:

Get Your Hands Dirty for a Great Cause at World’s End!

Join us for a Garlic Mustard Pull at World’s End and help protect this beautiful landscape from invasive species! Garlic mustard spreads quickly and crowds out native plants—but with your help, we can restore balance to this special place.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just looking to spend a meaningful day outdoors, this is a fun, hands-on way to make a real impact. Bring a friend, enjoy the fresh air, and be part of something positive for our local environment!

Join us this Sunday, May 24, for Beginner Birding in at our sister location, Whitney and Thayer Woods! Our guide will introduce you to the fundamentals of birding while leading you through parts of this 834-acre forest. This hike is geared towards beginners but all are welcome!

This will be an easy to moderate walk along dirt trails with slight inclines in some areas. The path taken will be determined based on where the most birds can be found at the time of the walk.

Pre-registration is required for this event. For more information or to get tickets, visit: https://thetrustees.org/event/446503/

135 years ago, a simple idea took root: That special places should be protected - not by a few, but by a community, and preserved for public use and enjoyment.

Since 1891, that community of Members has been you.

Today, we celebrate Founder's Day and the generations of Members who have made this work possible. Thank you for being part of this story.
