**Storm update**

Earlier today, a significant storm moved through the Village bringing intense rainfall, high winds, and hail. The combination of heavy rain and debris covering storm inlets resulted in street flooding throughout portions of the community.

Public Services has received approximately 60 service calls related to storm impacts. Crews have been actively responding since conditions were safe to enter the field, and we anticipate that the remaining street flooding will be substantially cleared within the next hour or so.

Areas with downed trees blocking roadways are being cleared tonight. Beginning tomorrow, to expedite removal, two woodchippers will be operating simultaneously with one serving the north side of the Village and one serving the south side.

Additional impacts from the storm include:

-Several Police Department vehicles sustained hail damage, including cracked windshields.
-Hail damaged the skylights at the Hinsdale Food Pantry.
-Flooding occurred at several Village facilities, including the Public Works Garage, the Memorial Building, and portions of the Police Station.

There are approximately 9 locations throughout the Village with downed utility wires. These locations have been secured where possible and are awaiting response by ComEd. Please keep away from downed power lines.

Several areas of the Village remain without power. The Village remains in contact with ComEd advocating on behalf of its residents.
During the height of the storm, Village personnel, like many residents, sheltered in place until conditions were safe. Once the storm passed, all available Police, Fire, and Public Services personnel were deployed throughout the community to address flooding, roadway obstructions, utility hazards, and other storm-related conditions.

We appreciate everyone's patience as crews continue restoration efforts.
