Our Outreach Coordinator Gage Richmond has spent yesterday, and it continues today at the 2026 Annual Hunger Summit by Mountaineer Food Bank in Sutton West Virginia. This event allows our Coordinator to connect with other agencies, learn about other ways to improve our food pantry, and learn many ways to improve our office as a whole. Many different sessions with the importance of hunger and impacts around it. Gage will take this opportunity and bring it back to Loaves and Fishes and look for ways to fight hunger everyday.

Without Volunteer commitment, our work would be impossible. Volunteers take passion, dedication, commitment very seriously and spend hours serving their community in many different ways. We thank our volunteers and all volunteers across the state.

Last year, 699 volunteers gave 32,248 hours to serve neighbors in need across West Virginia.

Our thrift store might be closed today but our friends at Summers County Reuse Store is open. Go check them out and support their efforts as a recycling center.
