Willowwood Road between Wiggins Crossing and Big Creek is closed until around noon for phone pole replacements. After that, crews will be moving to the vinicity of Big rock between Bun Hicks and Powleys Creek to replace poles until 3pm.

Public Notice: The West Virginia Department of Agriculture will be conducting aerial treatments for biological suppression of black flies on the Greenbrier, New, and Bluestone rivers on Thursday, May 28th, weather and water levels permitting. The suppression agent used for this is bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) which is a naturally occuring bacterium found in soil and interrupts the larvae life cycle of black flies and mosquitoes. 6:00am - power is fully restored.

11:24pm - This tree is the cause of the power outage affecting forest hill and hilldale areas. Repairs are underway.

There is a tree down blocking Camp Lightfoot Road near the 250 block (1/4 mile from intersection of Route 3 and 12. Fire Department is enroute.

6:00am - power is fully restored

11:22pm - Crews had to shut off power in the Hilldale area to begin repairs on the line that is down on Camp Lightfoot road. Power will be restored as fast as crews can work.

Mon power is reporting an outage in the Forest Hill / Buck / Seminole areas affecting 839 customers. Crews are enroute to investigate.

At 756 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Babcock State Park to near Tazewell.
Movement was northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Tazewell...
Hinton...
Saltville...
Chilhowie...
and Rainelle.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning.

**This has been resolved per Mon Power**

Mon power is responding to a power outage affecting the 3 phase primary system in and around Hinton / Avis area. No ETA provided but we reccomend that any businesses and facilities using 3 phase power please shut down that equipment to prevent damage. This outage can also result in residential homes being out of power as well.

AEP is reporting a power outage affecting 591 Summers County customer, and 704 customers total in the Green Sulphur Springs and Meadow Bridge area.

Update 1pm - a contractor is replacing a utility pole and will be completed by 3pm.

Our office was just alerted to a road closure on Willowwood road near Powleys Creek intersection. We are sending DOH to investigate as neither DOH or our office was told about this closure. Please use Route 3 as a detour until more information is provided.
