Labor Day Holiday Closure

In observance of Labor Day, City of Hiram offices will be closed on Monday, September 7.

We will reopen and resume normal business hours on at 8AM Tuesday, September 8.

At the August 25, 2026 Work Session, the Hiram Mayor and Council were proud to recognize the talented students of East Paulding High School’s Raider Studios, part of the Audio-Video, Technology & Film (AVTF) pathway! 🎥

These students put their skills into action by interviewing City of Hiram staff and giving our community an opportunity to learn more about the people and work behind the City.

We are grateful for the students’ time, creativity, and professionalism, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future! 👏

Ever wondered when you can speak during a City of Hiram Council meeting—or what the difference is between Public Participation, Public Hearings, and Visitor Business?

City Council meetings are held to conduct the business of the City in the open and in public. Specific portions of the meeting are reserved for public input, giving residents an opportunity to address Council at designated times.

As we wrap up the 15th year of Camp Hornet, we’re grateful for every camper, family, and staff member who has made this program so special over the years.

🌳 Homer Leggett Park Update

We’re excited to share an update on the ongoing improvements at Homer Leggett Park!

The following amenities are currently open and available for use:
• 🚻 Restrooms
• 🏞️ Pavilion
• 💪 Fitness equipment
• 💧 Drinking fountains

🚧 Please note: The dog parks remain closed, and portions of the park are still under renovation. Visitors may also encounter muddy areas as work continues.

Additional improvements are underway, including sidewalk completion and repairs to fencing around the dog park. Replacement equipment for the small dog park is scheduled to be delivered on September 19, with installation to follow.

Once the park is fully reopened, landscaping and grass work will remain ongoing as the final improvements are completed.

At the Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Regular Session Council Meeting, Chief Lonergan recognized Savannah Carder and the Hiram Police Department for successfully completing their state certification—a rigorous three-year process that reflects their commitment to excellence in law enforcement.

Chief Lonergan also extended a special thank you to Savannah for her diligence, dedication, and hard work throughout the certification process. In recognition of her outstanding efforts, she was presented with a plaque from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP).

Congratulations to Savannah and the entire Hiram Police Department on this significant achievement!
