Hoagland Volunteer Fire & EMS A Tradition Of Service Since 1930. The Hoagland Volunteer Fire and EMS has been serving Hoagland and surrounding communities for over a combined 100 years.

This is a Tradition Of Service that is made possible by both the support of the community we serve and the families we protect. This department is not just a group of individuals with nothing better to do. This is a brave and heroic family that is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These men and women are truly a unique breed. Our response area includes 51 square miles of primary coverage and 102 square miles additional dual-response structural fire coverage.

On Friday, September 11, 2026, our community will come together at Yager Field for a special 9/11 Memorial Game featuring the Heritage Patriots and the South Adams Starfires.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, a day that forever changed our nation. As we gather under the Friday night lights, we will remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the 343 firefighters of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice, the law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and countless other heroes who ran toward danger to help those in desperate need.
Before kickoff, we will pause to remember the heroes of 9/11 and our local first responders who continue to serve our communities every day. It will be a meaningful tribute that you won’t want to miss.

We invite fans of both the Heritage Patriots and the South Adams Starfires to fill the stands, wear your red, white, and blue, and join us in honoring the memories of those we lost while showing appreciation for the first responders who answer the call every day.

Please join us as we pause to remember the heroes, honor the sacrifices, and reflect on the resilience of our nation 25 years after September 11, 2001. Afterwards, we unite for an outstanding ACAC conference matchup between the Heritage Patriots and South Adams Starfires under the lights at Yager Field.

This afternoon at approximately 12:30 p.m., Hoagland Fire & EMS crews were dispatched to a fire service call involving a young mother who had experienced vehicle trouble and accidentally locked her young child inside her vehicle, with the a/c still on.
Our medics arrived on scene and safely retrieved the child within minutes.
Thankfully, both mother and child were unharmed.
Shortly thereafter, our medics transported mother and child to the fire station to cool off while assistance continued with their vehicle.
In the spirit of community, two of our volunteer medics stayed behind, removed the flat tire, took it to a local garage for replacement, and then returned the repaired vehicle so the family could safely continue on their way.

Emergency responders in Allen County answer calls for all types of situations every day. Sometimes our role extends beyond providing medical care. This response today wasn’t for a major emergency, but it was a reminder that helping people is about more than responding to emergencies. It’s about lending a hand when someone is having a difficult day, and coming together to do the right thing.

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, our community will come together for the Heartbeat Hustle 5K & 10K Run/Walk and the annual The Heart Beat of Hoagland Foundation event at the Hoagland Community Center. This incredible local organization is dedicated to helping heart transplant patients and their families while promoting awareness, hope, and life-saving measures that truly make a difference.

As first responders of Hoagland Fire & EMS, we see firsthand how important heart health, early intervention, CPR, AED access, and community support can be. That’s why we’re honored to stand alongside an organization whose mission is focused on saving lives and helping others through some of their most challenging moments.

Whether you’re participating in the run, enjoying the car show, grabbing lunch, or taking part in the family activities, you’ll be supporting a cause that has a real and lasting impact on others.

We encourage everyone to come out, get involved, and help make this year’s event a tremendous success. Together, we can support a mission that reminds us all that every heartbeat matters. ❀️

Last evening at approximately 9:45 PM, Hoagland Fire EMS and Southwest Fire District units were dispatched to a reported injury accident at the intersection of Monroeville Road and Franke Road.
Initial 911 reports indicated a motorcycle versus car with serious injuries.
A Hoagland Fire & EMS volunteer who was nearby responded immediately and began patient assessment and care. Southwest Fire District personnel arrived minutes later to provide paramedic support, followed by Hoagland EMS medics and additional Hoagland fire personnel who provided collaborative patient care and helped manage the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was evaluated and released at the scene.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

We are thankful for the outstanding partnership and teamwork displayed between Hoagland and Southwest Fire District. Incidents like this demonstrate the benefits our community can expect when the Allen County Fire & EMS District- ACFD begins providing staffed coverage in our area. Combined with our dedicated volunteer responders, this model will help improve response times, enhance patient care, and ensure help arrives faster when residents need it most.

Last night, our volunteers took advantage of some time between emergencies to get familiar with our new truck and its equipment.

That’s the dedication it takes to be a volunteer firefighter. You never know when the next call will come in, so when there’s an opportunity to train and learn, you take it.

Growing up in a small community, you learn pretty quickly that when someone calls for help, there are people willing to leave the dinner table, step away from family gatherings, or get out of bed in the middle of the night to answer that call.

Today, on National Volunteer Firefighter Recognition Day, we want to thank the men and women of Hoagland Volunteer Fire & EMS who continue to serve our community with dedication and pride.

Volunteers don’t dedicate their time for the recognition, they do so to give back to the community that they love.

Whether it’s a house fire, medical emergency, severe weather, or helping at community events, our volunteers are always willing to make their life, part of yours.

To every current member, retired member, and family member, who supports them behind the scenes, THANK YOU. Your commitment has helped protect Hoagland and the surrounding communities for generations.

⚠️ π‘πŽπ€πƒ π‚π‹πŽπ’π”π‘π„ ⚠️

At 6:29pm this evening, Hoagland Fire crews were dispatched to the 12000 block of Wayne Trace for a report of possible wires down.

Upon arrival, crews found power lines hanging dangerously low across the roadway. Southwest Fire District crews assisted Hoagland personnel on the scene to help secure the area and protect the public.

As of this posting, Wayne Trace remains closed between Flatrock Rd and Brunson Rd until Paulding Putnam crews can safely repair the damage.

This incident is a great reminder of the importance of community awareness. Someone saw something that didn’t look right and took the time to call it in. That simple action helped prevent what could have become a much more serious situation. We thank the individual who reported the hazard and helped keep others in our community safe.

If you ever see low-hanging power lines or any other dangerous condition, don’t assume someone else has already called. Stay a safe distance away and notify authorities immediately. Looking out for one another is one of the many ways we help keep our communities safe.
