This morning District’s Administration was notified about a student’s possible possession of a weapon on the high school campus. We immediately notified the police, conducted a search,
and resolved the matter according to District’s policies. Our students and staff are safe. Due to the sensitive nature of this subject matter and District’s legal obligations, we cannot provide additional information. The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our utmost priority. As always, we take these matters seriously. We look forward to celebrating our students’ accomplishments as we finish out the 2022-2023 school year!

Due to updated road conditions Hobart Public Schools feel it is safest to cancel school today, Thursday, Feb. 24th. We will conduct all classes virtually.

Tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 24th buses will run two hours later than normal, with a school start time of 10:00 AM. Morning vo-tech kids will not go,but afternoon vo-tech will be on schedule.

Hobart Public School is taking nominations for the Educator Hall of Fame. This is sponsored by the Hobart Educational Enrichment Foundation (HEEF). Teachers must be retired or deceased.
Criteria:
• Number of years with the Hobart Public Schools.
• Previous awards.
• Exceptional distinction to the school district and to the students.
• Nominator cannot nominate relative of the immediate family. (i.e., spouse, children, parent).

Nominations are due March 15th.

Hobart Public Schools will have virtual school on Friday, February 4th. There will be no school activities tomorrow.

Hobart Schools will remain closed for Thursday, Feb 3rd. Virtual Learning will take place for students and teachers. All school activities and practices are cancelled for tomorrow.

Out of an abundance of caution, Hobart Public Schools will take a snow day on Wednesday, February 2nd. There will be no school activities tomorrow. We will re-evaluate tomorrow evening for Thursday.

The weathermen are still predicting a possible winter blast to move through Oklahoma this week. As always, we will monitor each day closely and make decisions accordingly. Please call the school by Tuesday of this week if you are not already on our automated call register. I will also post cancellations to the news stations by 6:00am and post it on Facebook.
