Center For Possibilities-Preschool Friends Improving the quality of life of children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1960.

We provide the following programs and services:
• Toddler Program for children age 2-3 with a developmental disability focused on physical, social and emotional development.
• Preschool Program for children age 3-5 with developmental disabilities geared towards kindergarten preparation with a focus on learning ABC’s, numbers, colors, and spelling along with fine and gross motor development.
• Adu

lt Program for adults age 22 and above with a developmental disability focused on the development of self-care skills, daily living skills and academic advancement.
• Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy to help each enrolled child over the age of 3 develop skills to function to the best of their ability in the areas of gross motor, fine motor and communication skills.
• Family Counseling program provides individual, family and group counseling and information on community resources.
• Summer Camp programs for children with disabilities who are enrolled in other programs that do not offer summer programming.
• Inclusion Summer Camps is partnership with the Hobart Family YMCA and National Inclusion Project to increase inclusion opportunities for children of all abilities.

The Center will likely be closed all of next week. The power pole next to the Center snapped and fell, ripping the electrical junction box off the building. Many trees are down and we had some water damage in the adult department.

The board and management are working as quickly as possible to get the Center back up and running, but with so much damage in our area, Cruz have a waitlist. We are doing the absolute best we can!

We had a great week back after mid-summer break! These kiddo's were so excited to come back and see their friends and teachers and had so much to tell us. The told us all about their 4th of July celebrations and the fireworks and parades they got to see. They were a little wild, so we made sure to give them extra outside time to run off that energy! They also enjoyed the chalk and bubbles donated by a dear friend Melissa! They said thank you from the bottom of their hearts. We hope you had a great week as well that continues into the weekend!

Another busy week here at the center! We had to spend our time exploring things inside due to all of the rain, but the kiddos made the most of it! They were finally able to spend some time outside today and they enjoyed it thoroughly! Regardless of the rain they used every part of their brains this week and then even surprised us with their knowledge!

We had another great week here at summer camp. Lots of water play both indoors and out. Students got to see how much their plants have grown. Their teachers make sure they water them every day. What a fantastic day to wrap up the school year! Our students families came in with all the support for their kiddos! Our students had their graduation ceremony today some are going to kindergarten, some are moving up to the next class, and some still have some growing to do. We are so proud of each and every one of our students and it is all thanks to their loving families and their amazing teachers that go above and beyond for them! On to summer camp we go!!

I haven’t done a good job taking pictures, but we are celebrating that our staff survived the dumpster fire of the past year… from Staff turnover, to a disastrous roof leak and burst pipes… we made it!
