Happy Friday, everyone!
Here’s a little reminder that just like Rick Astley, HFD WILL NEVER:

Give you up
Let you down
Run around
Desert you
Make you cry
Say goodbye
Tell a lie
Hurt you

10/23/2020

We’re heading into the weekend (let’s just start now) but we can’t forget the 2020 health basics.

Wear a mask
Wash your hands
Keep 6 ft. away from others
Get a flu shot

We are ALL in the together!

The Melania Rose Smoke Alarm Intiative is underway at Ravinia Pines, to honor the little girl that perished in the August fire, and to raise awareness in the community. This would not be possible without the following fire departments that came to help from across northern Indiana: Merrillville, Lake Station, New Chicago, Portage, Crown Point, Four Seasons, Lake Hills, South Haven, Hammond, East Chicago, Boone Grove, Porter, South Bend & Goshen. The Indiana Dept. of Homeland Security is with us, along with staff from Ravinia Pines. A special thank you to Acme Printing for donating the informational handouts.

At tonight’s City Council meeting, three of our firefighters were recognized for their bravery.
New Chicago Fire Chief Joe Eakins presented George Malamatos, Charlie Sawyer & Steve Gouwens (not pictured) with these plaques, honoring their heroic rescue of a woman from a fire on August 21st. We are very proud of these men for risking their lives to save someone they had never met.

Great job!
On behalf of my wife Denise and I our personal and heartfelt thanks along with our deepest gratitude goes out to the Hobart Fire Department along with EMS of Hobart that came to our house here yesterday afternoon on Wisconsin Street. What happened was I was trying to walk down to the end of my driveway to bring back our garbage and recycling bins when all of a sudden I lost my balance on the ice on our driveway and I fell backwards hitting the back of my head on the pavement. I was given proper medical treatment. I was sent to St. Mary's Medical Center here in Hobart. Whoever the person was that made the 911 call outside of my house here on Wisconsin Street, I am deeply grateful.
I would like to say thank you for all your help today with my loud smoke detector's... my pup and I are very thankful to have our hearing back to normal.. you guys are awesome.. thank you once again.
Are you having the open house at station 1 like usual this year? I haven't seen any info on it and my kids love it every october !?!? Thanks
I know the Hobart firemen helped look for Rosa the dog a while back so I wanted to pass along some info. Someone called in a Rosa sighting today at 12:45pm 9/6/2018 on 10th & Lincoln St., near Lincolns carry-outs heading EAST. Really close to your firehouse. Please keep a lookout for Rosa as she's still missing. Please contact Chris Angelov at 219 789-6325 with any sightings. Thank you! #FindRosa
I would like to take the time out to honor all who came out and served on July fourth. This tragic event affected two homes, our family as one of them! It has truly impacted our lives! One of the service men handed me pictures of my boys who are currently serving for our country. A flag has been flown over seas in honor of the Hobart fire department’ we like to thank everyone who came out and shared their love and concern in this time of tragedy. GOD BLESS 🇺🇸
Congratulation HFD...you did it....5000 calls, 12/25/17 @09:07 ... and a new record high for calls.
