πŸŽ₯ HFD 1st Annual P.A.T. & Community Day! πŸŽ₯

πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯ On Saturday, June 27th, we hosted our first-ever Physical Ability Test (P.A.T.) and Community Day at Station 1, and Hobbs, you showed UP!

β–Ά Enjoy this incredible video highlighting this fantastic event; you'll feel like you were there!

Participants stepped up to the challenge and experienced firsthand what it takes to answer the call, tackling actual firefighter training drills and getting a small taste of what it takes to be a firefighter!

πŸ‘ A massive THANK YOU to everyone in our community who came out to test their strength and endurance, cheer on family and friends, and support the Hobbs Fire Department. We loved seeing such awesome participation and friendly competition from our residents, local leaders, city staff, and partner public safety agencies! A big shout-out to the Hobbs Police Department, the Lea County Sheriff’s Explorers, and any other first-responder representatives on hand at Station 1 that day! You represented your organizations admirably, and you should be proud.

πŸ‘€ Think you’ve got what it takes, or missed out this time around?
STAY TUNED! We are already looking ahead to our next P.A.T. event, and we're planning to make it even bigger and better!

πŸ”₯ Special thanks to Shotbychrisj for the AMAZING video!

πŸŽ†Have a safe and smokin’ Independence Day from the Hobbs Fire Department!πŸ”₯

🚫 NO aerial fireworks are allowed within Hobbs city limits - that means no rockets, firecrackers, mortars, or anything that launches into the air!

πŸ”₯ Quick Safety Tips from Your Friendly Fire Folks:
β€’ Only adults should handle & light fireworks (leave it to the grown-ups)
β€’ Have a bucket of water, fire hose, or fire extinguisher nearby (sparks can turn to flames fast)
β€’ Don’t relight duds (wait 20 minutes, & give β€˜em a soak, not a second chance)
β€’ Keep a safe distance (your mullet will thank you)
β€’ Don’t let kids pick up used fireworks (they might get burned by a sneaky one)
β€’ Soak everything in water before tossing it in the trash (you don’t want a flaming garbage can)
β€’ Stay 50 feet away from any structure (your neighbors will thank you)
β€’ Follow all instructions on firework packaging (be safe – not sorry)

πŸŽ‡ Want to light up the night legally? Use our designated Fireworks Safe Zones at the Hobbs Industrial Air Park (HIAP) Friday, July 3rd & Saturday, July 4th from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. both nights!

πŸš’ Fire crews will be out and about on patrol ensuring public safety, so wave hello and let’s keep Hobbs safe together!
