On September 5, 2025 at approximate 7:50 pm, officers with the Hoboken Police Department attempted to stop a 2004 Honda Civic for a registration violation on Highway 82. Upon initiating emergency lights in attempt to stop the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop which caused a chase to ensue.

The Honda Civic eventually gained access to Highway 121 north towards Blackshear traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph. Several miles into Pierce County the vehicle finally came to a stop on the shoulder of the roadway.

The driver identified as Dennis Markson Martin age 52 of Hoboken was taken into custody without incident.

Martin was charged with following:
Suspended Registration

Fleeing and attempting to elude

Driving while License Suspended

No Insurance

Altered Registration

No license on person

DUI

The City of Hoboken would like to thank the Pierce CO Sheriffs Office, Brantley Co SO, Nahunta PD, and the Georgia State Patrol for their assistance.

Martin was transported to the Brantley County Sheriffs Office for Booking.

The city of Hoboken will have their annual Safety Day on Saturday September 20, 2025 in front of city Hall. Event will take place from 11:00-2:00 Free hotdogs, drinks, and snow cones. Water slides and bounce houses will be set up. Come on out and enjoy yourselfs !
