Fellowship Housing is an independent, 501c3 non-profit organization that serves the needs of greater Chicago-land area single moms and their children who are struggling for stability and often one small crisis away from homelessness. The mission of Fellowship Housing is to empower single moms to build a new legacy. We do this through a two year transitional housing program that focuses on accounta

bility and a path to independence. We believe single moms are some of the hardest working people on the planet. It is our joy and honor to come alongside them in times of crisis so they can re-gain stability, break cycles of poverty, and build a new legacy for their families. If you or someone you know is in need, please reach out and let us serve you.

Meet Susan, our Office & Accounts Payable Administrator! 💙

Here's her in 5 👇

1️⃣ When visiting the zoo, you can find her hanging out at the otter enclosure for hours—if she's allowed to! 🦦

2️⃣ Loves creating elaborate houses in Minecraft. 🎮

3️⃣ Will avoid making a left turn if there isn't a traffic light. 🚗

4️⃣ Is always the one spotting unique bugs, frogs, mushrooms, rocks, and plants. Be warned if you go on a walk with her! 🐸🍄🪨🌿

5️⃣ Likes pigs—but only the cute flying ones! 🐷🪽

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board has understood from the beginning that housing and mental health go hand in hand — and their investment since 2019 reflects that. 💜

Since then, Fellowship Housing has served 46 residents from Hanover Township, including the 17 moms and children we're currently supporting today. Because of this partnership, moms from Hanover Township have access to safe housing, financial coaching, and the wrap-around support they need to build a new legacy.

Meet Lisa, one of our Program Supervisors! 💙

Here's her in 5 👇

1️⃣ An early bird who is usually the first one in the office. 🌅

2️⃣ 100% Norwegian and hoping to visit Norway soon to meet relatives and explore where her family came from. 🇳🇴

3️⃣ Her happy place is on the water—boating, tubing, skiing, paddleboarding, or swimming at her family’s lake cabin in Minnesota. 🌊

4️⃣ Has been part of the Fellowship Housing team for 13 years and loves reflecting on all the wonderful moms she has had the privilege of meeting along the way. ❤️

5️⃣ Spent her junior year of college living and studying in Nottingham, England.

2️⃣Backpacked through Europe for two weeks after graduating from college

3️⃣ Watches Wheel of Fortune daily and husband insists on Heather making her tv debut

4️⃣Daughters are in a dual language program so Heather is on a 1250 day streak for Spanish on Duolingo

5️⃣Picked up reading again during the pandemic and listens to an audiobook every week.

1️⃣ Fully embraces the minivan life and spends most of her time chauffeuring her three kids around. 🚐

2️⃣ Treats her sourdough starter like it's her fourth child. 🍞

3️⃣ Spent 12 summers detasseling corn—and it's still one of the hardest jobs she's ever had! 🌽

4️⃣ Her happy place is anywhere on the water. ☀️🌊
