✨Week 2✅✨

📚✨ The second week of school is when we all start to feel a little more settled in! I mean, we have already taken our first MAP tests of the year! 🤯

We’ve learned each other’s names, gotten comfortable with our classroom routines, and even had assignments to turn in! 😊 It’s safe to say the 2026–2027 school year is off to a great start! 🎉

Here’s to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories together! 💙📖✨

🌟 Student Spotlight: Johann🌟

Johann is the I in Kind because he noticed that a bathroom pass was left in the boys bathroom bin. He took it upon himself to find and return the bathroom pass to the correct classroom. He did the right thing, even when no one was watching! Room 213 thanks you for your Kindness ❤

✨First 8th Grade Assembly🦅✨

It may have been a review of expectations, but our 8th graders brought wonderful energy and reminded us just how special this class is. You were a fantastic group of kids last year, and we’re excited to see you carry that momentum into a memorable 8th grade year!

Keep showing up, keep leading, keep growing, and keep making us proud.

You’ve got this, Eagles! 💙🦅

🎉 7th Grade First Assembly of the Year! 🎉

Who says assemblies have to be boring? 😄 We kicked off the year with Minute to Win It games designed to help our 7th graders learn and connect with our universal school expectations in a fun, hands-on way!

Students tackled challenges focused on:
⚖️ Balancing tasks
💪 Embracing challenges
📚 Being prepared
🤝 Collaboration & teamwork

It was awesome to see our students engaged, cheering each other on, problem-solving, and putting these important expectations into action!

Here are a few highlights from a fun and energetic first assembly!

✨Meet IKE’s Leaders✨

Principal Ms. Wilson and Assistant Principal Mrs. Barry—two incredible leaders who know that great schools need both joy and high expectations! 🎉📚

They’re always balancing the perfect equation: creating a school where students can laugh, learn, belong, and have fun while also challenging every Eagle to give their very best. 💙

Their message is simple: We can have fun AND aim high! 🚀 Because when you combine strong leadership, big expectations, and a whole lot of school spirit, there’s no limit to how high our Eagles can fly! 🦅✨

✨Blind Build✨
🔸🔷🔺🟩♦️
This past week, students put their communication skills to the test with Blind Build! One student could see a pattern-block design displayed on the board but wasn’t allowed to touch the blocks. The other student couldn’t see the picture and had to recreate it using the pattern blocks.

The challenge? They had to work together using clear, precise communication and thoughtful questioning to bring the design to life!

This activity was a fun way to practice listening, describing, problem-solving, teamwork, and asking clarifying questions. Sometimes, the best way to build something is to learn how to communicate first! 💬🔷🔺🟩

✨Math Class✨

This week, students worked together to tackle a variety of cup-stacking challenges—but there was a catch: each person could only hold one string, and each cup had a rubber band connected to four strings. Success meant communicating, listening, adjusting, and working together as a team!

Some students were very serious about their strategy, while others spent plenty of time giggling along the way—pretty much exactly what a day in math class should look like! 😂

These challenges reminded students that math isn’t always about finding the answer on your own. Sometimes, the best problem-solving happens when we share ideas, learn from one another, and work together. 💪📚

✨B-I-N-G-O✨

The beginning of the school year is filled with the excitement of getting to know so many new people! Here are some of Migala’s 7th grade LA students playing a round of ✨About Me BINGO✨to discover what they have in common and learn more about their classmates. IKE is all about making connections before taking on deep discussions💕📚✨
