It was an absolute pleasure welcoming our NWSRA Fully Involved Fire Academy participants into our firehouse and sharing a little piece of what we love most with them!

Watching their confidence grow, seeing their excitement with each new challenge, and celebrating their accomplishments reminded us just how special this program truly is.

We may have been the instructors, but these participants left a lasting impression on all of us. Thank you, NWSRA, for allowing us to share our favorite place with such an incredible group of individuals!

👨‍🚒 HEFD OPEN HOUSE TOMORROW! 🚒

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department is opening the doors to Station 21 tomorrow from 1-4 p.m.! Bring the family out to meet the firefighters, check out the trucks and equipment, and get a closer look at what they do.

There will even be a helicopter landing! 🚁

FILL THE BOOT FOR MDA!

It’s that time of year again! Members of the Hoffman Estates Fire Department will be out around town collecting donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association through our annual Fill the Boot campaign!

If you see our crews out with boots in hand, help us fill them up! Not on your commute? No worries! Below you’ll find a link to donate online as a part of our team.

Our Fully Involved Fire Academy is off to an amazing start!

Over the past few weeks, our FIFA participants have completed Orientation and Rig Day—getting to know our crews, exploring the firehouse, and getting hands-on with our apparatus and equipment. 🚒

FIFA is all about new experiences, building confidence, and making everyone feel like part of the firehouse family. ❤️

We’re so proud of this crew already, and we’re just getting started!

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 to September 11, 2026 —
25 Years Later

Twenty-five years have passed. The promise remains the same: Never Forget.

Today, the Hoffman Estates Fire Department joins our nation in remembering the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 FDNY firefighters who answered the call and never returned home.

For those of us in the fire service, September 11 is more than a date in history. It is a reminder of what it means to answer the call without knowing what waits on the other side—to serve with courage, to put others before ourselves, and to stand beside one another when it matters most.

A quarter-century later, we remember the firefighters climbing the stairs while others were coming down. We remember the first responders who ran toward danger. We remember the innocent lives taken, the families forever changed, and all those whose lives were impacted by the events of that day and its aftermath.

25 years later, we still remember.
We still honor.
We still tell their stories.
And we will never forget. 🇺🇸

The Hoffman Estates Veterans Memorial Commission invites the community to gather in reflection and unity on the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The commission’s annual September 11 Remembrance Ceremony, “What Does it Mean to Never Forget?” will take place on Friday, September 11th at 11 a.m. at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall (1900 Hassell Road), to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks.
