The Hohenwald Police Department would like to thank Mason Sharp with Buffalo Valley for taking the time to come speak to our LEAP (Law Enforcement Awareness Plan) class.

Mr. Sharp shared a powerful message about addiction and substance abuse, spoke openly about his journey, and took the time to answer questions from our students. His honesty and willingness to share real-life experiences made a lasting impact.

We are proud of Mr. Sharpโ€™s recovery and truly appreciate his dedication to helping others through prevention and recovery efforts. Opportunities like this are invaluable in guiding and educating the youth in our community.

Thank you again for making a difference.

Earlier this morning, the Hohenwald Police Department was made aware of a reported threat involving a Lewis County School. Officers immediately began investigating the situation and coordinating with school officials to ensure the safety of students and staff.

At this time, the threat is not believed to be credible. We are continuing to look into the matter with our local, state, and federal partners out of an abundance of caution.

There is no immediate danger to the school or the public based on the information currently available.

The safety of our students, faculty, and community remains our top priority. We appreciate the quick reporting of the situation and the cooperation of school staff and community members while this matter is being addressed.

If anyone has information related to this incident, please contact the Hohenwald Police Department.
