SCEDD is proud to announce the 2026-2031 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is available for 30-day public review and comment. A copy of the CEDS is available at the SCEDD office located at 401 East Ave – 2nd Floor; Holdrege, NE 68949.

Public comments regarding the CEDS must be received by September 13, 2026, by email to [email protected].

If you watched everyone drive 90 miles an hour past a police officer who smiled and waved, you’d get the message that speeding is fine.

This is exactly what cities are telling property owners when they don’t enforce maintenance codes.

Green light. Do whatever you want. Nobody cares.

And then everyone acts surprised when nobody invests.

Money doesn’t flow into cities where property owners have no obligation to maintain what they own. The risk is too great. Why would anyone invest next to someone who can let their building rot with zero consequences?

Enforce your codes. Send the right message.

Your town is worth investing in. Start acting like it.
