Some of our 5th grade Oakwood Owls District STEM Fair winners recently competed at the University of Utah State Science Fair, an achievement that reflects considerable dedication and rigorous accomplishment in scientific inquiry. We are pleased to recognize the students who earned official awards for their innovative research and hard work.
Samuel Barton, Joshua Yip, and Eric Moulding received the Scientific Merit award in Physics, Astronomy and Math for their project on Magnets for a Levitating Train.
Eloise Brown earned 4th place in Civil and Energy Engineering for her project on earthquake-resistant building design.
Ava Cederholm received 2nd place in Computer Science and Applied Computation Methods for her AI Tomato Dr. project, along with a special recognition from Red Butte Garden & Arboretum for Excellence in Plant Sciences.
We are so proud of these students whose accomplishments represent the result of careful investigation and thoughtful problem-solving. We extend our congratulations to all participants for their contributions to the fair.
