BURN PERMIT REMINDER

Beginning June 1st and running through October 31st a $500 deposit is required when obtaining a burn permit.

Once the $500 deposit is on file, residents may request a burn permit by calling the township office or by submitting a request online at olivetownship.org. Burn permits are valid for 3 days and are issued during office hours only (M, W, Th, F 8am-4pm).

If no emergency response is needed and all burn permit conditions are followed, the $500 deposit will be fully refunded at the end of October.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep the community safe during the high-risk summer season. Please follow all burn guidelines and check conditions before burning.

Just a reminder about open burning ending soon...

🔥 Reminder: Open Burning Season Ends Soon! 🔥

Open burning in Olive Township is allowed through Sunday,, May 31st with a free permit. Getting a permit is quick and easy — just call the township office at 616-786-9996 during regular business hours and we will issue you a permit. You can also request a burn permit online at olivetownship.org

Permits help prevent unnecessary emergency responses when smoke or flames are reported. Please be responsible when burning----don't start a fire if you can't be present to watch it, or if winds are predicted to be strong.

🚫 After May 31, a $500 deposit will be required and special provisions apply. Please call the office for more information. You must have this deposit on file with the Township prior to being issued a burn permit.

Thank you for burning responsibly
