Come to the MIHSD and MFCD Fall Conference this Saturday at GVSU! This event is free for students, and $30 if your adult wishes to come! It will feature speakers such as Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon), Dr.Rob Davidson who is running for congress in our district, Brandon Dillon, MDP Chair, Dr.Abdul El-Sayed and Gretchen Whitmer, candidates for governor!

The fight for healthcare is not over yet. While Senators Stabenow and Peters are on the side of Michiganders, if you know anyone who lives in a different urge then to call 202-224-3121. That is the congressional switchboard, which can direct their call to their senators. We must not allow the Republican Congress to strip healthcare away from millions of Americans.

West Ottawa Young Democrats condemns President Trump's recent decision to forbid Transgender people from serving in the military. No one who is able and willing to serve in the United States military. President Obama's repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell was a truly promising step forward for transgender americans. President Trump has endangered 15,000 American patriots defending our freedom, and has diminished the militaries recruitment skills. He has proved he cares more for ideology and partisan politics than the readiness of our armed forces. History will not look kindly upon this decision.

Greetings everyone. It's been a while since this has been updated. Over the past week our President, Aaron Lindstrom has attended the HSDA summit in Washington, DC. At this summit he proudly represented one fourth of the Michiganders. Also the previous week, he was elected as Vice Chair of the Michigan High School Democrats. Combining these new connections with the learning and experiences he gained at summit, he is going to be reforming this group in a major way. More details to come.
