Economic security provides stability and peace of mind. That’s why I am a strong mental health advocate and support policies like minimum wage increases, paid sick leave, expanded healthcare access, and income support.

I signed the Principles for Trusted Elections Pledge!

The commitment to honest and transparent elections is vital for our democracy and democracy only works when people trust it. By signing the Principles, I’m committing to lead with integrity and help restore confidence in our elections. Because that trust matters more than any single outcome.

Team Democracy’s mission is to bring Americans of all political perspectives together around our shared commitment to the core democratic principles of our Constitutional Republic. They address polarization by promoting shared democratic principles, civic responsibility, and constructive engagement across differences, and I am honored to have their endorsement!

Michigan voters turned out in huge numbers for the Primary Election which was second only to the 2020 Presidential Election. Democrats registered almost 600,000 more votes than Republicans!

Michiganders have made their voices clear: Democrats are the party they trust to fight for them. To stand up for them. To fix what is broken.

We have momentum. We have energy. What we don’t have is Republicans’ money. The GOP is going to pour funds into this state, and into this race for state senate, from all over the country! That’s where you come in - I need your help to keep this race going. Can I count on your donation today?

As you can imagine, this has been an especially busy election week. But if you have recently started following my campaign, you may be wondering who I am and what I stand for. Tuesday’s interview with Dan Evans - WHTC Radio is a good introduction. I think you’ll find it is 9 minutes well-spent. Go to:

While I would like to celebrate the Democratic primary wins a little longer, we cannot forget what we’re here to do - focus on the needs of West Michigan and the housing crisis that affects so many of us.

Today’s Housing Summit in Grand Rapids is focused on moving beyond conversation, toward action, and applying strategies for addressing our housing challenges.

A key takeaway from the keynote address: “Our choices aren’t limited by culture, technical abilities, nor even resources.” When these things stop being limits, our choices become shaped entirely by our imagination, values, and personal responsibility.

I’m excited to put the strategies I learned today into practice as I continue my work for West Michigan.

The first leg of the journey to the State Senate is complete and I wish I could personally thank each and every one of you for your incredible support. Whether you donated to my campaign, placed a sign in your yard, helped me knock on doors, made phone calls, or simply filled in the circle next to my name on the ballot, I am deeply humbled and grateful beyond what these mere words can convey.

I would also like to thank my Democratic competitor, Keagan Host. It’s young people like him who are the future of the Democratic Party. They are the generation that will inherit and defend democracy, and I am thankful for his willingness to get involved in this race. Keagan, I hope you continue your passion and fervor in politics. You have a bright future ahead!

Our job is not done, though. Ahead of us is a race against a local and statewide Republican Party who swear that tax cuts for the rich will trickle down to the poorest among us, that DOGE was a good idea, and that we’re living in a hellscape of crime and violence triggered by “the woke.” Republicans believe the answer to all our problems is to export their “solutions” from Washington, D.C. into our state and adopt them for our own.

We have the next 90 days to stop it.

As grateful as I am for your support thus far, I am asking you once again, to come alongside me and finish this job. It will not be easy. But I promise you that as the sun sets on the General Election November 3, I will have left everything I have on the road to make this happen. And I’ll be honored to have done it with you.
