Holland Police Department Welcome to the official Holland Police Department page. Holland Massachusetts is located in Hampden County in the Palmer District Court jurisdiction.

We are a small department but make every attempt to be as self-sufficient as possible by utilizing our own Investigations Division, Crime Scene Services Division, Bicycle Patrol Unit, and Lake Patrol Unit, which patrols the Hamilton Reservoir during the summer. JUNE 3, 2026: The Holland Police Department is accepting applications for the positions of full-time and part-time police officers. Commencing on July 1, 2026, there will be one 1 full-time position available, and we regularly accept applications for the position of part-time officer.

(1). The full-time officer’s FY27 salary is $31.73 per hour. The benefits package includes a portion of health insurance paid for by the Town at the allowable percentage rate, currently 65%, vacation time, paid holidays, personal time off, and paid sick days.

*The full-time position is a Flexible Impact Relief Shift that requires daytime, nighttime, overnight, and weekend availability, and may require Lake Patrol duties in addition to Road Patrol duties. The purpose of the Flexible Impact Relief Shift is to provide police coverage while other officers utilize time off, and when those other officers are temporarily unavailable. The regular working schedule is Wednesdays through Sundays, from 10 AM - 6 PM; however, the officer may be required to work different hours than their regular shift, depending on operational needs.

(2). Part-time police officer positions require daytime, nighttime, overnight, weekend, and holiday availability and may require Lake Patrol duties in addition to Road Patrol duties. The position requires a minimum availability of four 4 shifts per month, to include two 2-day shifts and two 2-evening shifts. Part-time police officers provide shift coverage for full-time officer vacancies and extra coverage when needed. The part-time officer FY27 salary is $27.47 per hour.

**All applicants must meet current Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) and Municipal Police Training Committee (M.P.T.C.) requirements, be at least 21 years old, have (or be eligible to obtain) a valid driver's license, and a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearm LTC. Applicants must be a high school graduate, pass a background investigation, and reside within 15 miles of the Town of Holland by the time of appointment.

Lake Siog Recreation Area will officially open for the season this Saturday, May 23rd. The park will be open Fri-Sun from 10:00am - 6:00pm through Labor Day (in addition to Memorial Day and Labor Day).

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - EXTRA TRAFFIC PATROLS ON DUTY: Please be advised that Dug Hill Rd (between the intersections of Sturbridge Rd and East Brimfield Rd) is closed to through traffic today, Thursday, May 14,2026, for tree removal. This does not impact Dug Hill Rd between Brimfield and East Brimfield Rd, the Lake Siog side.

Also, please be advised that due to the increased traffic through the Town as a result of the Flea Market in Brimfield, we have extra patrols on duty this week, including today and tomorrow, to specifically focus on traffic enforcement and speed reduction on our roadways, among other tasks.
