Every day at school is a chance to build friendships, discover new strengths and feel a sense of belonging. 💙

Through Be Present, Be Powerful!, Ottawa Area ISD and Allegan Area ESA are partnering to celebrate the benefits of regular attendance and connect families with resources to overcome barriers to getting to school.

Schools across the Ottawa area are making progress: chronic absenteeism is nearly half what it was in 2021–22! Together, we can keep that momentum going and help every student feel valued, connected and ready to learn.

Every school day counts.

OAISD Board Trustee John Siemion has been selected for the National School Boards Association’s inaugural Policy Leadership Cohort. Over 6 months, he’ll explore special education governance, inclusive learning practices and how data can help inform decisions that support student outcomes.

We look forward to the insights he’ll share as our Board continues its work on behalf of students and families!
