"Mary" has been living in a Bavarian Village independent living condominium on Genacross' Napoleon Campus for several years. Recently, she came to the campus' Health Center in poor health. She was weak, withdrawn and struggling with day-to-day activities. Through consistent nursing care, therapy services, encouragement from staff members, family support, and her own determination, Mary began to improve. Today, she is thriving. She smiles more, interacts with others, and enjoys a level of independence and quality of life that once seemed out of reach.

A recent study showed Ohio has the sixth highest percentage of seniors who struggle with not having enough food. Take "Ezekiel" for example. Before he moved into an assisted living apartment on Genacross' Wolf Creek Campus in Holland, Ohio, he struggled to eat healthy meals regularly. Ezekiel had a neighbor who often invited him to dinner, but it was not enough. He was down to 100 pounds when he arrived at the Wolf Creek Campus. With the help of a better diet, regular meals, and therapy, Ezekiel has gained weight and strength and is no longer dependent on a wheelchair to get around.

Every day, we provide hope to youth in crisis. Take "Alicia" for example. When she arrived, Alicia frequently displayed verbal and physical aggression and destroyed property. Significant developmental needs combined with year of challenges had left this young girl, who loves animals and coloring, functioning at the level of a 5-year-old. Through dedicated treatment and support from Genacross caregivers and close collaboration with her family, Alicia began to engage more positively with others. By the time she left our care, she had made great strides and learned the tools she needed to thrive at home.
