The investigation into the death of a woman reported missing in the beginning of May, who was later found dead in a Carbondale home, has led to the arrest of a man and woman.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer involved shooting involving Meridian Police Department. A deceased Meridian Police Officer and an unidentified deceased female were both found at the scene. This incident occurred on 51st Avenue, Thursday, June 9, 2022, in Meridian city limits.

The suspect, 31-year-old Dante Marquez Bender, is believed to be driving a 2004 Black Nissan Armada with a tag reading “IMANI.” Bender may be armed and dangerous, if you see him or come in contact with him, please call 911.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing their
investigation, agents will share their findings with the local District Attorney’s Office.

Jamar Boyd, 42, has been charged with murder for the shooting death of 39-year-old Antwayette “Pooh-Pooh” Brown, whose body was found alongside a road just outside the City of Hollandale. Boyd was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of narcotics.

On today around 7:30 am, Hollandale Police Department and Washington County Sheriff's Dept. found a deceased person on an unknown block of Sandifer Rd. on side of the road just outside of Hollandale. The person was identified as Antwayette “PoohPooh” Brown, 39 of Hollandale, MS. 🙏🏽Please pray for her family and check on your people.

****SEVERAL HOUSES WERE SHOT INTO DURING AN OVERNIGHT SHOOTOUT****

HOLLANDALE-On last night the Washington County Sheriff’s Department was called to assist the Hollandale Police Department after several shooting calls were received, which left the lone Hollandale Police Chief in the middle of a shootout between several masked gunmen. The shootout took place between the Teal Bay Apartments and the Sanders Estates on Sanders St. in Hollandale, MS where several houses were shot into. The Hollandale Police Department is investigating the incidents and seeking ways to increase the city’s patrol as Hollandale prepares for its Memorial Day Weekend festivitiies.
