🔐 A Parent’s Reminder: Think Before You Post

As parents, we love sharing our children’s accomplishments, milestones, birthdays, vacations, first days of school, and special moments with friends and family. ❤️📸

However, the Holley Police Department would like to remind parents and guardians to be mindful of just how much information may be revealed in a single social media post.

Before posting, consider whether the photo or caption reveals:

• Your child’s full name or nickname
• Their age or date of birth
• Their school, classroom, or teacher
• Sports teams, practices, or regular activities
• Your home address or neighborhood
• Your daily routines or locations
• Vacation plans or when your home will be unoccupied
• Personal information visible in the background of photos

Information that seems harmless when shared individually can sometimes be combined by someone with bad intentions to learn a great deal about your child and your family.

🔎 Take a moment before you post:
“Does this photo or information need to be public?”

Consider reviewing your social media privacy settings, limiting who can see your posts, and avoiding real-time location updates.

Most importantly, talk with your children about online safety and remind them that once something is posted online, it can be very difficult to completely remove.

The Holley Police Department would like to remind everyone that electric bicycles (e-bikes) are an enjoyable and efficient way to travel, but they also come with significant responsibilities. Riding without a properly fitted helmet greatly increases the risk of serious head injuries in the event of a crash. Reckless operation—including excessive speed, weaving through traffic, ignoring traffic control devices, riding on sidewalks where prohibited, or performing dangerous stunts—puts not only the rider at risk but also pedestrians, motorists, and other cyclists. We encourage all e-bike riders to wear a helmet every time they ride, obey all traffic laws, remain alert to their surroundings, and operate their e-bikes safely and responsibly. By making smart choices, we can all help keep our roads and neighborhoods safe for everyone.

This Independence Day is unlike any other. As America celebrates its **250th Anniversary**, we honor the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the enduring ideals of freedom, courage, and unity that have defined our nation for two and a half centuries.

Today is a time to reflect on the sacrifices and achievements of those who came before us, recognize the contributions of all Americans who continue to strengthen our communities, and look with hope toward the future we are building for the next generation.
