Last night at 22:41, station 30 was dispatched for a vehicle fire at bass court. Chief 30 and FP30-4 arrived with a working fire. Engine 30 arrived with a crew of 5 and put an attack line in service. Tanker 90 from Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department Station 90 was requested for water supply.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING
Flood Watch issued August 15 at 12:54PM EDT until August 16 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following
counties, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon and
Somerset.

* WHEN...From Sunday morning through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected over the
Laurel Highlands and south-central mountains on Sunday morning
and perhaps again in the late afternoon and early evening. Places
that have received heavy rain recently will be most susceptible
to flooding.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Altoona Fire Fighters IAFF Local 299 and the family of K-9 Lucille.

Lucille suffered a medical emergency and passed away.

We were fortunate to have Lucille visit us during one of our Fire Prevention programs here at the station. She was a friendly pup with some amazing talents! She enjoyed lots of love from the kids in attendance.

She will be missed 🐶🐾🐾🌈

A busy morning for the department. Station 30 responded to three incidents shortly apart from each other…

At 08:39, station 30 along with station 90 Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department Station 90 were dispatched to the intersection of William Penn Highway and Juniata River for a vehicle crash in involving a tri-axle and car. Rescue 30, Chief 30, and fire police responded along with deputy 90, engine-rescue 90, special unit 90, and 90 fire police.

At 09:16, we were alerted for a carbon monoxide alarm at the 200 block of Jessica street. Chief 30 and rescue 30 diverted from the accident scene and responded over to investigate. Crews made contact with the occupants on scene and stated they were doing work and the alarm was set off by accident.

At 09:31, we were then alerted to assist Freedom Township Vol. Fire Company on the 40-1 box for a reported house fire on shoenfelt street in freedom township. Squad 30 responded and provided a RIT crew while station 40 and other mutual aid companies worked to bring the fire under control. *Fire photo is credited to station 40.*

This evening for in house training night, members went over search and rescue practices as well as patient packaging utilizing the UTV.
