Samollynn Angora Rabbits New Hampshire

I have made this page to share my journey with angora rabbits and spinning fiber. My rabbits are not harmed in anyway. But soon there will be plenty to come.

This page is to show my journey with my angora rabbits and their fiber made from wool to yarn to object. They willingly give their wool when they shed. They live a very happy life here eating grass daily and being held and snuggles all the time. Please check out my journey and leave a comment or two. There is not much for sale, as I am just starting out. Thank you.

Last month was a long month for me and my family. I fell behind on grooming. So this week I caught up on almost everyone and harvested a few coats that needed to be harvested.

Babies are getting soo big! This is my favorite stage where they start exploring and their personalities start coming out.

It’s baby season here at Samollynn. Had our first litter and unfortunately lost all but one. This little singleton will stay in our house till it warms up a little and some fur grows. Mamma will come in 2x per day to feed. This is Gimlie’s first litter so all of this is new and a little scary for her. She’s doing good though. Little one is eating pretty well so far and she hasn’t rejected her baby. So in my book, all is good.

Angora fiber is water resistant. Because of its beautiful halo (hairy look) the water sets on top of the fiber and doesn’t soak into your hat. Today was our first day of winter weather. It snowed last night and early this morning then turned to rain. The rain is pretty steady and snow is falling off the branches. Needless to say it’s wet outside but my head is warm and dry! I will be posting soon some angora products that I have available.

It’s amazing how fast they grow. This is one bun from today to the week it was born. 3 weeks old: eyes are open, starting to try food, no more nest box. Big week for these guys.

I know it’s been awhile, I’m still here. We did have baby bunnies born this past week. Very excited to see some beautiful colors and some Vienna marks.

Today is the beginning of baby pick up day. Today baby buns go to their new homes and start their new lives. These days are always so bitter sweet for me. But knowing the great homes I have lines up eases things a little.

These babies are getting HUGE!!! I love them at this stage because their personalities really start to come out. Such a fun group!
