Responsible dog ownership isn’t just about loving your dog. It means consistently meeting their physical, emotional behavioral, and medical needs.

🌊 SPLASH SAFELY 🐾
Not all dogs can swim safely! Always supervise your dog around water and consider a properly fitted life jacket for swimming, boating, and other water activities.

🗣️ Socialization is important 🐶🐕
Properly introduce dogs to people, animals, environments, and experiences. Especially when they’re young! This helps them be confident and adaptable. That’s how best friends are made!

🚫🍟 Not all people food is safe for dogs! 🚫🍔
Keep toxic foods like chocolate, grapes/raisins, onions, garlic, artificial sweeteners and other foods out of paw’s reach.

🎆🎇 Celebrate responsibly and prepare accordingly! 🎆🎇
Create a quiet, comfortable space where your pet can feel safe. Make sure their collar, ID tags, and microchip information are all up to date.

🩺🧑‍⚕️Regular veterinary care matters! 🐶👨‍⚕️
Preventative exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, and prompt treatment of illness helps dogs live healthier lives.

🐺 Always follow the friendly paths 🐻
When visiting national parks, keep all dogs on a leash and stay on the indicated “dog-friendly” paths. This is to protect the wild life, ecosystem, and you furry loved ones!

Keep chocolate, candy, and wrappers safely out of reach at all times. Especially when visitors are looking for treat!

HOLLISTER, CA -  On August 20, 2026 Deputy Probation Officers with the assistance of Hollister Police Department  conducted a compliance search after arresting a youth for a Violation of Probation.

The compliance search reveled the youth to be in possession of an untraceable fi***rm with a loaded extended magazine. Additionally, the youth was found in possession of gang paraphernalia and controlled substances.

The individual was arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center(YSC). San Benito County Probation remains committed to holding individuals accountable, supporting rehabilitation, and taking proactive steps to protect the safety and well-being of our community.
