As we celebrate another successful year with Shout at Hollister High School, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible student Wellness Teaching Assistants who serve as Facility Dog Handlers: Litzy Fabian, Mariah Naranjo, Lauren Skow, Janessa Esparza, and Alina Patino, all of whom earned a certificate of recognition as a certified student facility dog handler. Being a facility dog handler is much more than walking a dog or spending time with a friendly companion. Handlers play an essential role in supporting Shout's work throughout the school community. They help ensure her safety and well-being, assist with maintaining her schedule and routines, model appropriate interactions for others, and serve as ambassadors for the program. Through their dedication, responsibility, and professionalism, they help Shout provide comfort, connection, and support to students and staff every day. Our handlers demonstrate patience, leadership, compassion, and commitment. They understand that Shout's presence can ease anxiety, encourage engagement, provide emotional support, and create moments of joy for those who need it most. Their willingness to give their time and energy makes a meaningful difference in the success of our facility dog program. To each of our student handlers: thank you for your hard work, reliability, kindness, and care. Shout's impact on our campus would not be possible without your partnership. You have helped create a more welcoming, supportive, and connected school community, and we are grateful for everything you do. Shout gives you four paws up and a tail wag of appreciation! 🐾❤️
