MAY 11, 2026

HOLLISTON POLICE DEPARTMENT SEEKS RE-ACCREDITATION

Police Chief Matthew Stone is pleased to announce that assessors from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission are scheduled to conduct an assessment of the department, to include policies and procedures, operations and facilities beginning on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The assessment is expected to last three days. Verification by the Assessment Team that the department meets the Commission’s standards is part of a voluntary process to gain state Accreditation -- a self-initiated evaluation process by which police departments strive to meet and maintain standards that have been established for the profession, by the profession.

Accreditation status requires that the department meet 257 mandatory standards, and at least 69 of 125 optional standards.

Achieving Accreditation is a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence. I look forward to sharing the success of this project with you upon completing our assessment.

From our Kids' Bike Rodeo to Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day, HPD has been celebrating all month long!

As we start heading into the second half of the month this week (𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵!?), HPD — in collaboration with Town of Holliston — wanted to share a friendly reminder of some key bicycle safety tips to keep in mind every time you ride.

Get out there and enjoy our scenic town, Holliston, and always remember: helmet on, phone down, ride with traffic, and be seen! 💙

It was a busy day of graduations for members of the Holliston Police Department, and we hope you will join us in congratulating two
significant milestones for HPD personnel.

The men and women of the Holliston Police Department would like to publicly acknowledge the accomplishments of some of Holliston’s finest.

First, congratulations to Sergeant Ryan Parent and soon-to-be sworn-in Sergeant David Craig for successfully completing the two-week Command Training Series: First Line Supervisors Course at Roger Williams University. Sergeant Parent, who was promoted this past September, and Officer Craig, who will be promoted in just a couple of weeks, completed a course focused on contemporary leadership and management
concepts appropriate for first-line supervisors in a modern criminal justice agency.

Secondly, we would like to publicly congratulate Officer Costa Tsolirides for successfully graduating from the 2nd Recruit Officer Class at the East Falmouth Police Academy. In addition to completing all facets of the academy, Officer Tsolirides received the class Academic Achievement Award for earning the highest grade point average in the
class.

We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated by all three officers as they continue to represent the Holliston Police Department with distinction.

It may have been a grey morning, but that didn't stop our community from showing up for Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day at Blair Square! Thank you to everyone who joined us because, despite the rain, you made our day! 🌧️💙

Join us on Thursday, May 7, 2026 to Walk, Bike, & Roll to school! Students should arrive at Blair Square 20 minutes before their school start time. The event is rain 🌧️ or shine ☀️, although severe weather may cancel the event (fingers crossed it's a ✨shine✨ day!)

🚲 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬' 𝐁𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩!

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘺! This past Saturday, HPD hosted our Kids' Bike Rodeo and the turnout was fantastic! A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a fun event.

Officers Loftus, Mustard, and Bader, SRO Keefe, and Sgt. Parent were on hand representing HPD's Mountain Bike Unit and Motor Unit. Kids had a blast completing a designated bike safety course in collaboration with Safe Routes to School, and got up close and personal with the motorcycle, which is always a crowd favorite!

Every kiddo went home with a free bike helmet, water bottle, and goodie bag, and a big thank you to Milford Bicycle for being on site to service bikes throughout the event.

Events like this are what community is all about. We hope to see you all out on the trails this summer!
