👮 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩!

Last week, HPD hosted our annual Junior Police Academy and it was an incredible week! Eleven talented and enthusiastic junior cadets spent the week learning from some of the best public safety professionals around, and we could not be prouder of every single one of them.

Organized by SRO Keefe, this year's academy featured presentations and demonstrations from an outstanding lineup of agencies and organizations:

From watching K9 Blitz in action to getting up close with fire and rescue equipment, our Junior Police Academy cadets got a front row seat to the incredible world of public safety.

🎖️ Congratulations, Officer Ethan Coakley!

We are incredibly proud to announce that Officer Ethan Coakley has successfully completed his one-year probationary period with the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METRO-LEC) SWAT, capping it off with his final training run at the Blue Hills in Milton, MA last month.

Officer Coakley's history with HPD runs deep. He first joined the department in 2015 as a dispatcher before transitioning to full-time police officer in 2017, and he has been going above and beyond ever since. In addition to his patrol duties, Officer Coakley serves as one of the department's fi****ms instructors and was accepted onto the METRO SWAT team as a probationary member in the summer of 2025.

METRO SWAT is one of the teams that responds to the most serious and critical incidents requiring the highest level of tactical response available. SWAT personnel are held to the highest performance standards, utilizing the best methods, tactics, equipment, and resources to ensure the safest and most effective response possible. Earning a spot on this team is an incredible accomplishment.

Completing a full SWAT probationary period demands significant physical fitness, tactical skill, and an unwavering commitment to the team, and Officer Coakley has proven he has all of that and more.

Congratulations, Officer Coakley — our communities are safer with officers like you on these critical teams!

Road Work Reminder: Contractors will be applying sealant to the Mudville Area (including Pleasant St, Spring St, School St, Exchange St, Mechanic St, and Union St) on August 11. There will be NO On Street Parking beginning August 10 from 6PM to August 11 at 6PM. Thanks.

The June 8th Select Board Meeting 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 recognized our new K-9 Unit, as K-9 Mattis now enjoys retirement 💙

The Holliston Police Department is excited to announce and congratulate our new K-9 Unit team, Officer Alex Hulme and K-9 Blitz!

Over the course of 14 weeks at the Boston Police K-9 Academy, Officer Hulme and K-9 Blitz completed an intensive training program consisting of more than 560 hours of instruction and practical exercises at locations throughout Eastern Massachusetts. That's 560 hours of hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of training between this incredible new team. 🐕

Graduating from a police K-9 academy is no small feat — it requires an extraordinary commitment from both handler and dog. We could not be prouder of this team and we cannot wait to see everything they accomplish together in the years ahead.

Nothing like a little suspicious activity out front the other day 🤔 Before we knew it, there were flamingoes everywhere! 🦩

Turns out we were "flocked" courtesy of the Holliston High School Cheerleaders, and we have to say, we think the flamingoes really added some pizazz 🤩

🍦 It's the best time of the year for our residents at Cole Court and Mission Springs who look forward to their ice cream socials!

Residents love these so much, some even stopped by to make sure their sweet treat days were still on the calendar 👀 We had a wonderful time visiting Cole Court and Mission Springs these past two days and, as usual, maple walnut was the star of the show. 🍁 Some things never change and we wouldn't have it any other way!

💪 The competition is heating up — and not just because of the weather!

Yesterday, dozens of candidates completed the Physical Abilities Test (PAT) Assessment at Holliston High School as part of HPD's hiring process. Despite the warm temperatures, every candidate showed up ready to work and gave it everything they had. The Assessment included a 1.5 mile run, which candidates are pictured here at the ready for.

And a big thank you to HPD personnel for making the day a success!
