Our firefighters underg

o rigorous training to make sure they're well-prepared for any scenario they might face, from putting out fires to providing medical assistance and carrying out rescues. We are actively involved in educating the community about fire safety and how to handle emergencies through programs like our safety day and CPR training. Plus, we stay up-to-date with the latest training and technology to ensure we can do our job effectively and safely.

🌡️ Dangerous heat is here

Today, all of the state is under a Level 3 – Significant Heat Risk, with high temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s and heat indices reaching 110°F–115°F.

🥵 Heat stroke becomes increasingly likely with prolonged outdoor activity. Protect yourself by:

💧 Hydrating throughout the day
☀️ Taking frequent breaks from the heat
👀 Recognizing the signs of heat illness
🚗 Never leaving people or pets in vehicles

If you must be outside, try to limit strenuous activity and spend time in air-conditioned or shaded areas.

⚠️ Flash Flood Threat Tuesday (7/14/26) ⚠️

An elevated (Level 2) flash flood threat is in place for much of Mississippi from Noon through Midnight, with 3–5 inches of rain possible in a short amount of time and locally higher totals. Areas of flash flooding are likely, and some roads could become flooded or closed.
🌧️ Stay weather aware.
🚗 Never drive through flooded roads. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
📱 Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.
