City of Holly Springs, Georgia - Official Government

City of Holly Springs, Georgia - Official Government Located 35 miles north of Atlanta in Cherokee County, we strive to exceed the needs of our residents.

Located just north of Atlanta in fast-growing Cherokee County, the City of Holly Springs is a five and a half square mile oasis of friendly neighborhoods, thriving businesses, and wonderful early-twentieth century homes and commercial buildings. The City was incorporated in 1906, and quickly began building up around a busy train depot established by the L&N Railroad (now the Georgia Northeastern R

ailway). That depot, now the Holly Springs Community Center, was painstakingly restored by the City in the late 1990's and is a source of immense civic pride for our 9,000 local residents.

Next week is going to be a busy one! Here’s what to expect:

Beginning Monday, August 31st, the new driveway to City Hall will be closed through Friday, September 4th while crews complete finishing touches. The old City Hall driveway will remain open and can be used as usual during this work.

Phase III of the Holly Springs Parkway Widening Project continues, weather permitting. Crews will be pouring the new outside lanes early in the week and then shifting traffic to the outside lanes when they are able. After traffic is shifted to the outside lanes, demolition of the old roadway will begin. (They will also work on building back Alma Coffee's driveway!)

We wanted to give everyone a heads-up before the work begins. If you received a postcard or have questions about work occurring near your property, Georgia Power's Customer Support Team will be able to provide the most specific information about the work in your area. You can reach them at 877-276-0578 or [email protected].
