The risk of severe storms will continue into much of this evening, mainly across the eastern plains. All hazards are expected, with the risk of flash flooding increasing later this evening.

A cluster of severe thunderstorms is expected to move from northwest to southeast across the far eastern plains this evening into the early morning hours of Friday. Damaging winds, very large hail and possibly a tornado or two will be possible.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening across the eastern plains. Thunderstorm development is possible anywhere along and east of the I-25 corridor, however, the highest chances for severe weather will be closer to the CO and KS border.

High impact hazardous weather will continue across portions of southern Colorado through tonight. This will include heavy snow and blowing snow across the Continental Divide and higher peaks of the Sangre De Cristo mountains, high fire danger with conditions becoming volatile for fire spread across the plains this afternoon, and damaging wind gusts across portions of the San Luis Valley, southeast mountains and plains along with areas of blowing dust through today. A hard freeze will be possible tonight across El Paso county tonight with the possibility of a widespread hard freeze across all of the southeast plains Monday night into Tuesday morning. Take care if you are traveling today as strong cross winds will be dangerous to high profile vehicles. AVOID activities which could start a wildfire!
