The Attucks Middle School Vision

Is to to become the heart of the city of Hollywood by developing our young Eagles to soar in their educational journey through a dynamic, rigorous, and innovative approach to teaching and learning. Our schools Cambridge Global Communications Academy offers two magnet themed programs specifically designed to prepare our Eagles in meeting the expectations of the wor

ld today and tomorrow.

1. Cambridge Academy

We want to help our students with the best preparation for the next stage of their education, university and beyond and becoming a Cambridge School is a way of showing our commitment to excellence in education. Our goal is to develop successful learners that are confident, responsible, innovative and engaged. The Cambridge Secondary 1 program provides a coherent education curriculum and assessment for 11-14 year-olds that allows us to do so. The Cambridge English, Mathematics, and Science curriculum promote an inquiry-based approach to learning to develop thinking skills and encourage intellectual engagement of our students. It aims to enable our learners to communicate confidently and effectively and to develop critical skills in order to respond to a range of information, media and texts with enjoyment and understanding. Most importantly, our Cambridge Academy offers pathways our young students can follow from now through to university entrance.

2. Global Communications

We have designed multiple pathways for our students to explore the communication field. Our electives engage students by having them tackle real-life communication issues, develop usable communication skills, and build a strong portfolio. Our certified teachers bring real-world lessons, experience, and best practices to the classroom. Pathways include: Film & Television Production, Microsoft IT Academy, Digital Media & Graphic Design, Journalism, Debate, and Yearbook Publishing.
