Hollywood Fire Department responded to a house fire mutual aid call with Gum Springs , Curtis, and Arkadelphia Fire Department this morning. When they arrived on scene, they set up a static water draft system at a near by pond and provided “An endless supply of water” to all four responding trucks. (Quoting Chief Bill Rogers). Great job guys!

The National Weather Service has placed our area in an enhanced severe weather risk category for today and moderate for tomorrow. Depending on where the front lands will depend on the exact location of the strongest storms. There is the possibility of high winds, strong tornadoes and large hail. The fire department had been making preparations for this event and will respond if or when needed. If you have an emergency, call 911. That is the easiest way to get assistance. Also, a NOAA weather radio is one of the best way to get weather information. We will be out working helping to clear roads and whatever else is needed.

This is one of the largest and longest running Search and Rescue conference in the south. This hands on event is beneficial to all training levels. Instructors from 9 different state converge on Lake Degray to provide quality training. If you are a novice or someone who has been working for years, this event is for you. Lodging, food and training all included in the price. Registration is available at the link below.

ARSAR is a search and rescue conference using skills based training to enhance the capabilities of all experience levels.

Hollywood Fire Department will be mailing our 2023 fire due statements this month. Dues are $50 per year. If you need a receipt for your 2023 payment, please include your email on your return slip and one will be emailed to you.
