🚨 UPDATE — HOLLYWOOD HILLS HIGH SCHOOL 🚨

The Hollywood Police Department has completed its safety assessment of Hollywood Hills High School. The campus has been rendered safe, and there are NO CREDIBLE THREATS at this time.

Students are now being systematically dismissed from the school.

🚌 Students who arrived by school bus will be released and transported from the school by bus.

🚗 Students who are normally dropped off or picked up by a parent/guardian will be released for parent/guardian pickup.

🚶 Students who normally walk home will be permitted to walk home.

⚠️ PLEASE BE PATIENT: The dismissal process will take longer than a normal school dismissal because each student must be properly accounted for before being released.

🚔 There will continue to be a heavy Hollywood Police Department presence in and around the area to assist with the dismissal process and traffic control.

Please allow additional time and expect significant traffic congestion in the surrounding area.

We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our students, parents, school staff, and community as we work to ensure everyone is dismissed safely.

THE HOLLYWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT IS CONTINUING TO SYSTEMATICALLY CHECK AND VERIFY THAT ALL STUDENTS ARE ACCOUNTED FOR AND ALL ROOMS AND AREAS OF THE SCHOOL CAMPUS ARE SAFE.

ONCE LAW ENFORCEMENT HAS COMPLETED THE SEARCH OF THE SCHOOL CAMPUS AND DETERMINES IT IS SAFE TO PROCEED, STUDENT DISMISSALS WILL BEGIN.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE SCHOOL CAMPUS OR INTERFERE WITH THE ONGOING LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATION.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO MONITOR OFFICIAL HOLLYWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT CHANNELS FOR UPDATES. Hollywood Police Department will advise when dismissal will take place.

🚨 POLICE ACTIVITY / COMMUNITY ADVISORY 🚨

The Hollywood Police Department is currently conducting a police investigation in the area of N. 56th Avenue and Stirling Road.

Out of an abundance of caution, schools in the immediate area have been placed on lockdown while officers conduct their investigation.

We ask the public to avoid the area and allow officers to safely carry out their duties.

🎒📚 Happy First Day of School, Hollywood!

Wishing all of our students, teachers, administrators and school staff a great start to the new school year!

To our students: work hard, be curious, be kind, make new friends and enjoy the journey. Every new school year is a fresh opportunity to learn, grow and discover what you’re capable of.

And a special thank you to our teachers, school staff and parents who do so much every day to help our kids succeed.

As we all get back into the school-year routine, please slow down, drive safely and be patient in our school zones. Keep an extra eye out for children walking and biking to school, and for school buses making frequent stops. A few extra minutes of patience can help keep everyone safe.

As we head into the Fourth of July weekend, I want to wish you and your family a happy and safe Independence Day.

This year, we mark a milestone unlike any in our lifetimes, as America turns 250!

Two and a half centuries ago, our founders put their names to a bold idea, enshrined in the Declaration of Independence's famous preamble: that all are endowed with the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Every generation since has defended and renewed that ideal, and it endures today because ordinary Americans keep believing in it. But belief alone has never been enough. From the earliest days of independence to today, the brave men and women of our armed forces have served, sacrificed, and defended the freedoms we hold dear, and to them we owe a lasting debt of gratitude.

Here in Hollywood, this milestone hits close to home. We recently celebrated our own centennial, one hundred years since a stretch of sand and scrub was reimagined as the city we love today. What began as one man's vision of a "Dream City" became the work of generations who chose to build here, stay here, and invest in one another. That is the American story in miniature, and it is ours.

Please join us tomorrow, Saturday, July 4, 2026, as we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday at the Star-Spangled Spectacular 4th of July Celebration on Hollywood Beach.

Sponsored by the City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, this annual event will feature live entertainment beginning at 6:00 p.m. and an offshore fireworks display at 9:00 p.m.
