We had a number of lively comments on our last school post. Some quick history on that building: it was built in 1895 and would eventually be torn down, however the year is uncertain.
Another school building most are likely to fondly remember is this one below. It was originally built in 1916 to serve as the High School building. It would eventually become the elementary building in the 1960s and serve in that capacity until 1998 when the current elementary building attached to the current high school was completed. It was demolished over the summer of 2001.
Fun fact 1916 was another important year. That year the graduating class became determined to create a school annual for the first time. 105 names were submitted to the contest to name the annual. "The Moo" won.
The black and white photo in this post was taken November 1923 has 144 students in it taken in front of the 1916 building. The color photo was taken by Beth Ortner before it's demolition.
