Happy Indigenous People's Day! Our adorable library mascot Cedric recommends Powwow Day by Traci Sorell to read today. The story doesn't only make you feel like you're really hearing the music and watching the dancing, but Cedric also thought it did a great job of teaching how to appreciate something beautiful even when you can't participate. The bright colors and drum beats made him want to wiggle all his tentacles!
You can find Powwow Day in the children's room at Holt, along the wall where the picture books are.

Holt Head of Circulation Jennie Huston recommends Is It Okay to P*e in the Ocean? by Ella Schwartz: "This book is a fun and entertaining look at helping to keep our oceans and freshwater clean, posed in a humorous way that makes you want to keep turning the pages. Full of hilarious facts that will stick in your brain, it's written for children but adults will learn a lot too. Who doesn't want to learn where it is and isn't ok to p*e?"
