Maintaining Fire Protection for Our Community

In 2008, voters in the Holts Summit Fire Protection District approved a bond issue that funded fire stations, apparatus, and equipment that improved emergency response throughout the district. These improvements helped the district achieve and maintain an ISO Class 4 rating.

That rating is important for property owners because it can help keep homeowners insurance premiums lower.

The current bond is approaching its expiration. The question on the April 7, 2026 ballot asks voters whether to renew the existing bond, not increase it. If renewed, the funding would continue to support replacement of aging apparatus and equipment and help the district maintain the level of fire protection needed to keep its ISO Class 4 rating.

Maintaining that rating helps protect lives, property, and can help keep money in the pockets of property owners through lower insurance costs.

Residents of the Holts Summit Fire Protection District will have the opportunity to vote on the bond renewal April 7, 2026.
