At a special meeting of the Holtville City Council held on August 18, 2026, uncontested qualified candidates Michael Goodsell (Incumbent) and Stacy Britschgi were appointed to the Holtville City Council in-lieu of a General Municipal Election, pursuant to California Elections Code section 10229.

Immediately following their appointment, City Clerk Yvette Rios administered the Oath of Office, swearing the candidates in to the governing body.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN The City of Holtville is seeking applications from interested parties to fill a vacancy on the Holtville Planning Commission.

Planning Commission members are expected to make potentially significant time commitments to both learning the job of a Planning Commission person, as well as attendance to Planning Commission meetings, held regularly at 5:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. Special meetings, workshops and public events may require additional time as well.

Qualifications:
1. Must be a registered voter at their current address;
2. Must reside within the City limits of Holtville;
3. May not be an employee or officer of the City of Holtville.

You may find the application on the website of the City of Holtville at: www.holtville.ca.gov or with the City Clerk at City Hall, 121 W. Fifth Street, Holtville.

You may attach a resume or any additional information which you feel will assist the Council in their selection. The application should be typed or clearly printed and filed with the City Clerk at City Hall, 121 W. Fifth Street, Holtville.

Deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Applications will be reviewed for recommended selection at the next scheduled Planning Commission Meeting, followed by a review for appointment at a subsequent meeting of the Holtville City Council.
