Coach Aly Brinkema-

Swimming has always been a huge part of Aly’s life. After her successful competitive athletic career ended in 2005 as a Kansas University graduate, she began coaching the sport she loved to others everywhere she lived.

Aly found her way back to Holyoke as a swim coach helping as first a volunteer, then assistant coach, and then Head Coach for Holyoke High School spanning the years from 2006-2021.

It’s worth noting that Aly’s mom, Adria Colver, started the Holyoke High School program in 1998. Adria, also coached the summer club since 1991 until she handed the reins to Aly in 2021.

This year, at the 34th Annual Holyoke Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala, it is well worth recognizing Aly’s dedication to the Holyoke Summer Swim Club. She has been coaching the club from 2006-the present year. Aly’s passion for the sport and love for the kids is more than words can say….

There have been too many high point champions and other success stories from Holyoke swimming to mention. Aly has always had kids from not just the Holyoke area but from all over the area make the drive to Holyoke to train under her coaching.

Swimming is an individual sport and a team sport… Coach Aly brought the best out both her individual athletes and her teams.

The swimming community in Holyoke has been and will always be grateful for the passion, leadership, commitment, encouragement, and expertise Coach Aly brings to the beautiful Holyoke Swimming Pool.

20 straight years of coaching at a high level in the same program is a blessing and accomplishment to our community!
