From the Holyoke City Council:
Due to technical issues outside of our control, the Ordinance Committee meeting for September 29, 2026 has been cancelled. Any items listed on this agenda, including public hearings, will be taken up when the committee meets on Monday, October 5th.
Update:
The cancellations were due to a loss of the internet connection used by Holyoke Media's equipment, which is separate from the internet the city's network uses. Holyoke Media attempted several troubleshooting steps with their equipment before determining the issue was with the connection coming from their internet service provider. This prevented any broadcast signal from going out on Channel 15 or the livestream. More impactful to the decision was that this also prevented communication between anyone in City Council chambers and anyone attending on Zoom. Because the meetings, and especially the public hearings last night, were advertised to the public as being accessible in person or on Zoom, this could have been a violation of Open Meeting Law. We received counsel from our Law Department on rescheduling the items on the agenda.
