From Greg Eaton

Hello everyone, my wife found a bunny on the side of ripley hill rd down from our house. It was in the ditch and it was raining out so of course we have it inside now. It is black and white. We stopped at a couple houses and no luck. if someone is missing it we are taking care of it for you.

Regretfully, there will be no Memorial Day ceremony at the cemetery this year for both personal reasons, and due to lack of turnout the past two years. Last year only 4 attended, and that number included my guest speaker and sister. I’m not sure if it’s due to the Homer parade or not but I feel like it’s a lot to ask the men and women of the American Legion to come up afterward for an event of little interest in our town. I spoke to Don and he thinks if we have a bbq afterward or attach it to an event, that may draw more people. I agree but will need more time and volunteers to coordinate something like that for next year. I’m open to any help as my time has become limited. Thank you and enjoy your weekend and remember those who sacrificed for our freedom.

Hey everybody! Believe it or not, It’s that time of year again. Things are a little different this year. I want to see if folks would still be interested in the holiday decorating contest, even if there is no monetary prizes. It would only be for recognition and bragging rights. Unfortunately, there’s no extra cash this year. Please comment or like the post if you’d still be in it for the fun. 🎄 ☃️

Hi all! I’d like to share this video of Scott that I wasn’t aware of. The photos were found at an estate sale in Scott and sold on eBay but I am grateful for the documentation and for the person who shared it with me.

If you would like to know more about these photos and see some individual pictures, I have more information at my blog: https://heavenstretch.wordpress.com/2...

Thank you for all who came out to our Memorial Day ceremony and thank you to the American Legion of Homer and our guest speaker, Lawrence Rawson. Please remember those we lost as you celebrate the day.

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
- Mary Frye (1932)

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow;
I am the softly falling snow.

I am the gentle showers of rain;
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush;
I am in the graceful rush.

Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.

I am the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
