Hello, Ohio! We have a severe weather threat today that warrants some attention. No, this won’t be an outbreak of any kind. Yes, it may be disruptive to your outdoor activities. A Level 2 (Slight) risk of severe weather is in place for most of the state.

There is a cluster of storms moving into northwest Ohio now. Severe weather is possible with this activity. However, additional storms are likely to fire up and move southeast between 12pm and Midnight.

The main threats today will be focused north of US-50 and the strongest storms can co rain damaging winds and large hail. There’s still an extremely low tornado threat in Central and eastern Ohio today. We do not expect any tornadic activity to be intense. It would be low-intensity and brief. Most, if not all, storms will fail to achieve tornado production status.

SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIAL -- SATURDAY (6/6/2026)

We are going to be keeping an eye on the potential for severe weather on Saturday. Much of northern to central Ohio is under a slight risk (2 of 5) for severe weather, with a marginal risk (1 of 5) for most of the rest of Ohio.

While it is still a little early to dive into too much details, isolated to scattered showers and storms look be possible Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary concern, but cannot rule out an isolated tornado.

Congratulations Luke!

This morning, we proudly celebrated an exciting time for our department with the swearing in of two full-time members and the promotion of two dedicated members.

While officially joining the department in new full-time Firefighter/Paramedic roles, both of our newest members, Luke Hawbaker and Nate Wolfe, are already familiar faces, having previously served through our part-time program. We’re excited to see them continue growing within our department and community.

We also recognized two members for their well-earned promotions, reflecting their hard work, leadership, and commitment to serving others. Tommy Calland was to EMS Coordinator/Training Lieutenant and Nate Hines was promoted to Assistant Chief.

Please join us in congratulating all four members and their families on these exciting milestones. We’re proud to have such dedicated individuals representing our department and community. 🚒👏
