Watch young imaginations bloom at the library this summer with our 2026 theme: Plant a Seed, Read! Just as seeds grow into vibrant plants, we’re helping young people grow into great readers.

The Friends of the Homer Public Library is pleased to announce a $5,000 grant from the Homer Foundation to support community literacy this summer. The award was made possible by the Willow Fund and the KLEPS Fund, which are donor-advised funds managed by the Homer Foundation.

These funds support Summer@HPL2026: Plant a Seed, Read, our upcoming summer reading and learning program. The grant helps provide a long list of engaging educational activities to area youth and their families June - July. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Willow Fund, the KLEPS Fund, and the Homer Foundation for their vital support.
