☎️ Ally Telecom Group offers Prepaid Calling Service allowing incarcerated persons at Claiborne Parish to stay in contact with loved ones. No incoming calls can be received except for voicemail messages to approved inmates. Each inmate will be given access to the telephones upon the completion of the booking process.

📲 You can also video visit your loved one from the comfort of your home, as well as send messages and approved pictures which is quicker, easier and cheaper than sending letters through the mail. 🚍 Happy Back to School Claiborne Parish! Remember to slow down and stay alert in school zones. Let's keep our children safe this school year!

There are specific laws regarding when a driver must stop for a bus that is flashing red lights.

🛑 On a two-lane road, all vehicles in both directions must stop.
🛑 On a four-lane road with no median or other physical barrier between the lanes, all vehicles in both directions must stop.
🛑 On a three-lane road with a center turning lane, all vehicles in both directions must stop.
🛑 On a divided highway with a grass median or other physical barrier, vehicles moving in the same direction as the bus must stop; oncoming traffic should proceed with caution.
🛑 On a highway with a center turning lane with two travel lanes on each side, vehicles moving in the same direction as the bus must stop; oncoming traffic should proceed with caution.

Please use caution if outdoors, by drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks. Be sure to check on your neighbors and pets as well.

Heat Advisory and Extreme Heat Warning headlines remain active across our entire region, and additional heat headlines are expected over much of the region on Wednesday. Remember to exercise heat safety precautions if outdoors for any extended periods!

Due to recent storm damage to the Claiborne Parish courthouse, all court dates have been postponed until the week of July 20th -24th.

Criminal Court that was originally scheduled for July 7th, 2026, will now be July 21st, 2026. All traffic and misdemeanor courts originally scheduled for July 8th, 2026 will now be July 22nd, 2026.

Plea’s to be held on July 14th, 2026, will be July 29th, 2026.

As the 4th of July holiday weekend approaches, we want to remind you of a few firework safety tips. 🎆🇺🇸 Keep this holiday enjoyable and safe this year!

• Never allow young children to play with or ignite fireworks, including sparklers. Sparklers burn at temperatures of about 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit—hot enough to melt some metals.
• Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy, in case of fire or other mishap.
• Light fireworks one at a time, then move quickly away from the fireworks device.
• Never try to relight or handle malfunctioning fireworks. Soak them with water and throw them away.
• Never place any part of your body directly over a fireworks device when lighting the fuse. Move to a safe distance immediately after lighting fireworks.
• Never point or throw fireworks (including sparklers) at anyone.
• After fireworks complete their burning, to prevent a trash fire, douse the spent device with plenty of water from a bucket or hose before discarding the device.
• Only purchase from a reliable source and set off fireworks that are labeled for consumer (not professional) use.
• Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
