It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Fire Chief Mark Jones of the Forest View Fire Department.

Chief Jones was a dedicated leader, mentor, and brother to so many throughout our MABAS Division. His commitment to the fire service, his department, and the communities he served was unwavering. He led with strength, compassion, and integrity, leaving a lasting impact on countless firefighters and paramedics across our mutual aid family.

Today, we stand together in mourning the loss of a great Chief, a respected colleague, and a true servant of the fire service. His legacy of leadership, service, and brotherhood will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Chief Jones’ family, the members of the Forest View Fire Department, and all who had the honor of serving alongside him. He will be dearly missed, but his influence will continue to guide and inspire us for years to come.

Rest easy, Chief. We have the watch from here.

The Hometown Fire Protection District would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Burbank Fire Department and the Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) for hosting an outstanding Roof Operations class utilizing the IFSI pitched roof prop.

This valuable training provided our crews with the opportunity to work alongside mutual aid companies to address common challenges that Truck Companies encounter while operating on various roof configurations.

We are grateful for the continued partnership and commitment to enhancing firefighter safety, skill, and efficiency through collaborative training.
