The Annual Putnam County Senior Prom was held at the John Henson Senior Center Friday night, May 15, 2026. There were over 40 present who enjoyed the food (prepared by John Henson staff) and the musical entertainment provided for us by our Hometown Senior Center Director- Cindy Bright whom we coined as “Cin- Spin Enterprises”. Our King and Queen were crowned and this year it was David Simmons as the King and Donna Ingram as the Queen. Betsy Allen from the Hurricane Breeze came to cover the event, and we noted to her that at least 4 couples present at the prom met at the Senior Centers. Everyone enjoyed the evening and had a lovely time. Thank you to the staff that came to help make the night a success as well.

Mother's Day Tea Party 2026. The ladies had a fantastic time, indulging in delicious food and tea. Pam Swanson generously prepared gift baskets for the ladies, showcasing her remarkable talent and creativity. We appreciate her dedication to creating baskets for our parties. Young volunteers, dressed in attire, assisted with preparations and cleanup, along with special seniors who contributed to the effort. At Hometown, we take great pleasure in honoring mothers who enrich our community.

We have been busy at the center this week. We tried some chair Zumba Thursday. They had a blast. Then Friday Jason our transport driver manned the grill and grilled up some yummy burgers for us. It was a great day for a cook out and some fun. We have activities everyday at 10 am. Stop by and see us we are always getting into something.
