City Council approved seed funding last night for an initial $25,000 in Emergency Assistance for residents at the Park at Buckingham. The fund will be managed by HICA.

About 400 residents were impacted by the apartment's unsafe conditions including mold, caved in roofs, water leaks, sewer backups, squatters and trash.

Council has approved $25k to assist residents being displaced from the 'Park at Buckingham' apartments. Homewood has updated its Traffic Calming Policy to create a clearer process for neighborhood traffic concerns. Requests begin with Engineering and traffic data, followed by safety reviews and a resident petition process. The policy was approved unanimously July 27. Read more: https://bit.ly/4fTc5mA
