ESPN and al.com sports broadcaster Lauren Sisler visited with Homewood High student athletes Friday to talk about the importance of your story, your legacy, & the impact you can make on others. Sisler shared about her path to earning a gymnastics scholarship to Rutgers University & the struggles she faced when she lost both of her parents within hours of each other to prescription drug overdose while at Rutgers. For a long time, Sisler hid her story & suffered alone. Now she talks with student athletes who are still writing their own stories as they face challenges throughout their lives. Thank you to Lauren Sisler for sharing her powerful message with our students. #WeAreHWD
